Hugo Araujo

Hugo was one of our first group members and the first to obtain a graduate degree.  He was both an undergraduate researcher (2010-2012) and a graduate student (2012-2013).  He obtained his MS degree in Jan 2014.  His thesis title was‘Total Synthesis of Veranamine’.  

In 2014 Hugo entered the Osteopathic Medicine program at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.

Conner Farley

Conner was a member of our research team for three years (Fall 2012 -  Summer 2015).  He worked on anti-pancreatic cancer medicinal chemistry.  Conner was raised in Boise ID.  He graduated from the U of I with a BSc majoring in Chemistry.  After leaving our group he began his graduate studies at Purdue University in Indiana in fall of 2015.

Kyle Clark

Kyle hails from Priest River, ID, and raduated from the U of I with a BSc majoring in Chemistry in 2015.  He was a member of our reserach program for two years (2013-2015).  Kyle worked primarily on the large scale synthesis of an anti-lung cancer lead compound for one of our collaborators.  During the summer of 2014 Kyle received an NIH-INBRE summer research fellowship.  In Fall 2015 Kyle began his graduate studies in chemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Hailey Knox

Hailey graduated from the U of Idaho in 2015 with a BSc majoring in Chemistry.  He hometown is Athol, Idaho.  She was a member of our research team for two years (2013-2015) working on multiple projects including the multi-step synthesis of anti-lung cancer compounds for a collaborator and synthetic methodology dealing with selective reduction of enones.   Hailey was a recipient of the Brian and Gayle Hill undergraduate research fellowship (2014-2015).  She also spent the summer of 2014 working in California as a medicinal chemistry summer intern at Gilead.  Upon leaving our program Hailey began her graduate studies in organic chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

2015

Megha  Karki

Megha joined our group in August 2010 as the first graduate student in the program.  She hails from Delhi, India and received her BScH and MScH degrees from the University of Delhi. During her 5-year PhD effort, Megha worked on many projects and trained countless incoming research students.   In August 2015 Megha succesfully defending her thesis entitled “Development of Oxidatin Reactions Based on Vanadium Pentoxide, Dimethylsulfoxide, and Unique Synthetic Iron-Rich Clays”.    Upon leaving the group Megha began her postdoctoral fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute with Prof. Krishnamurthy.



Alexis Peters

Alexis worked in our lab for one summer as an INBRE Fellow in 2015. She is a Lewis-Clark State College student, majoring in biology, who will graduate with her Bacherlor’s degree in Dec. 2015.  Alexis is from Lewiston ID.

Sarah Lusk

Sarah worked in our lab during the 2014-2015 academic year and the summer of 2015 as a recipient of an INBRE summer research fellowship.  Sarahis a University of Idaho student majoring in Chemistry.  Sarah hails from Baker City, OR.  


Ebenezer Jones-Mensah (‘Jones’)

Ebenezer or ‘Jones’ joined the group in January of 2011.  He was born and educated in Accra, Ghana, receiving  his Bachelors degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University  of Science and Technology, Ghana.  Jones, was awarded his PhD in March of 2016.  His dissertation was titled “Selective Reductions Directed by Rehydrated Alumina and Thiomethylation Using Dimethylsulfoxide.” He co-authored four published manuscripts.  Upon leaving the group Jones joined Intel Coorporation in Portland, Oregon as a process engineer.

Jacob Dalton (‘Jake’)

Jake joined the group in 2014 and departed in 2016 when he graduated from the University of Idaho, with a B.S. in Chemistry, to join the graduate chemistry program at UC Davis. Jake’s hometown is Shelley, Idaho. Jake’s major area of research in our group was on the preparation and use of new synthetic clay reagents for green oxidation chemistry.

Dynal Renn

Dylan was a member of our group in the summer of 2016 as an undergraduate summer fellow supported by the NIH INBRE program.  Dylan was an undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming.


Jiahong Li

Jiahong was a member of our group in the summer of 2016 as an undergraduate summer fellow supported by the NIH INBRE program.  She was a undergraduate student at Lewis and Clark State College.


James Peterson

James was a group member in the summer of 2016.  He was supported by the NIH INBRE program, BYU-Idaho, and the WWAMI program.  James completed his undergraduate studies at BYU-Idaho and is present a medical student at the University of Idaho and the University of Washington in the WWAMI program.



Kael Stelck

Kael was a group member during the summer of 2016.  He is a University of Idaho undergraduate student.
