Our research program is focused on development of innovative synthetic methods that enable faster, cleaner, and cheaper assembly of useful compounds.   A major aspect of our research is the use of heterogeneous reagents and catalysts to enable simple, user-friendly, and environmentally benign, synthetic processes with simple filtrative workups.  We often target functionalized heteroaromatic scaffolds which are common in pharmaceutically relevant compounds. We also pursue collaborative medicinal chemistry projects, the synthesis of bioactive natural products, and evaluation of their structure-activity relationships (SAR).
