The department of chemistry at the University of Idaho has a vibrant and productive research culture.  We currently have 12 research-active faculty and 4 instructors.   The Magolan research group occupies a large organic synthetic laboratory, an instrument room, and a student office.  The lab is equipped with all of the tools needed for synthetic chemistry research including 13 feet of fume hood space (two large 8 ft. fume hoods and one 5 ft. hood.).   We also have access to the research instrumentation listed below:

Bruker Avance 500-MHz NMR spectrometer (multinuclear capability, solids and variable temperature probes)
UV/Vis, IR, elemental analysis, GC/MS instruments
