Statistical Consulting Center

Note: Due to budget and staffing constraints, the Statistical Consulting Center's services are no longer available.  We recognize this is an important need and hope to open it again in the future.

The Statistical Consulting Center (SCC) helps with statistical design and analysis so researchers can produce high-quality, reproducible research. We provide assistance in the design of experiments and sample surveys, advice on statistical analyses, and expertise on recent developments in statistical research.  We can also provide, for a cost, assistance and collaboration at a more extensive level. The best time to seek statistical consulting is during the earliest stages of the research project, and before any data is collected.

Faculty members, staff, and graduate students from any discipline are welcome.

Help in the design of experiments and sample surveys, help in calculating sample size, advice on statistical analyses, and advice on statistical computing programs are provided for free, which is funded by the Department of Mathematics and Statistical Science.

For more information, email stats-scc@uidaho.edu, or come in during our walk in hours.

University of Idaho faculty members, staff, and students may schedule an appointment with a librarian to receive individualized assistance and consultation. An appointment-based consultation is intended for in-depth analysis of your research question as well as instruction about using appropriate information resources and creating effective research strategies. Please visit the University of Idaho Library’s Subject Liaisons page to identify your liaison’s contact information and schedule an appointment. Appointments will generally be made during the hours of 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, though special arrangements for other times may be made by mutual agreement.
