Suat Utku Ay, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Ay received his MS and PhD Degrees in Electrical Engineering-Electrophysics from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA, in 1997 and 2004. He joined the ECE department in 2007 as assistan professor, and been an Associate professor since 2013.

He founded VLSI Sensors Research Group (VSRG) and Focussed Ion Bean / Scanning Electron Microscopy Laboratory (FIBSEM), in 2007 and 2016, respectively. His core focus and competence is in the wider area of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) circuits and system design, specifically in the area of analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design for array sensors such as Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) type image sensors and camera systems. He worked in semiconductor industry as VLSI Design Engineer for about 10 years before joining to academia.
