Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler

The full or part circle pop-up sprinkler shall be a single nozzle impact drive type, capable of covering a ___ units radius at ___ units pressure with a discharge rate of ___ units flow.  The sprinkler shall have an infinitely adjustable arc of coverage from 20 to 340 degrees or full circle.

The sprinkler case and internal assembly, except for the arm spring, bearing spring, wiper seal, and bearing washers shall be constructed of durable plastic.  The rotation of the sprinkler shall be accomplished by a horizontal oscillating Precision Jet (PJ TM) arm, actuated by the outlet water stream.

The sprinkler shall have an adjustable diffuser pin for distance and distribution control and shall be capable of full or part circle operation.  The sprinkler nozzle outlet trajectory shall be 23 degrees.

The sprinkler shall have a strong stainless steel retract spring for positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be 3".  The sprinkler shall have a co-molded bypass wiper seal for low pressure operation and for cleaning debris from the riser as it retracts into case.

The sprinkler shall have a 1/2" (FNPT) side and bottom inlet for installation flexibility and an inlet screen to protect nozzle from clogging.

Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler

The full or part circle pop-up rotor sprinkler shall be a single nozzle impact drive type, capable of covering a ___ units radius at ___ units pressure with a discharge rate of ___ units flow.  The part circle sprinkler shall have an infinitely adjustable arc of coverage from 20 to 340 degrees.  Full circle (360 degrees) shall be accomplished by disengaging the trip mechanism of the impact drive.

The sprinkler case and internal assembly, except for the arm spring, bearing spring, wiper seal and bearing washers, shall be constructed of durable plastic.  The rotation of the sprinkler shall be accomplished by a double-weighted, horizontal oscillating Precision Jet (PJ TM) arm, actuated by the outlet water stream.  The double weighted arm shall provide for a slower rotation speed and increased distance of throw.

The sprinkler shall have an adjustable diffuser pin for distance and distribution control and shall be capable of full or part circle operation.  The sprinkler nozzle outlet trajectory shall be 23 degrees for the standard nozzles and 11 degrees for the low angle nozzles.

The sprinkler shall have a strong stainless steel retract spring for positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be 3".  The sprinkler shall have a co-molded bypass wiper seal for low pressure operation and for cleaning debris from the riser as it retracts into the case.

The sprinkler shall have a 1/2" (FNPT) side and a combination 1/2" or 3/4" (FNPT) bottom inlet for installation flexibility and a bottom inlet screen to protect nozzle from clogging.  The case shall have a sturdy, reinforced rib design with flange.

The sprinkler shall accept seven color-coded interchangeable nozzles.

Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler with Seal-A-Matic TM

When so indicated on the design, the pop-up rotor sprinkler shall also have a Seal-A-Matic TM (SAM) check valve to prevent low head drainage for elevation differences up to 10 feet or 3, 1 m.

The sprinkler shall have a pressure activated multi-function wiper seal that positively seals against the nozzle flange to keep debris out of the rotor and to clean debris from the pop-up stem as it retracts.  This wiper seal shall prevent sprinkler from sticking up, and be capable of sealing the sprinkler cap to sprinkler body under normal operating pressures.

The sprinkler shall have a screen attached to the drive housing to filter inlet water, protect the drive from clogging and simplify its removal for cleaning and flushing of the system. It shall have a 3/4" (FNPT) bottom inlet.

The sprinkler shall have a strong stainless steel retract spring for positive pop down.  Pop-up height as measured from the top of the cap at normal installation to the middle of the nozzle orifice shall be _____ units.

The 5000 Series sprinkler shall have available 24 interchangeable nozzles:  3 Radius + MPR color-coded nozzles for maximum throw, and 6 Rain Curtain TM color-coded nozzles for superior close-in watering, 6 standard nozzles and 9 low angle nozzles.  All nozzles shall come with a stainless steel adjusting screw capable of reducing the radius up to 25%.

The sprinkler shall have a "Vandal Collar" which prevents tampering with arc setting.  In addition, all three nozzle turrets shall come equipped with a locking screw to further reduce vandalism.

When so indicated on the design, the full or part circle shrub unit shall have all the specifications of the standard unit plus 2 locking set screws.  One shall engage with the riser assembly from the sprinkler base.  The other shall engage the body assembly from the sprinkler base.  The combination of the two shall provide increased vandalism protection when properly installed.

When so indicated on the design, the full or part circle commercial version rotor sprinkler shall have all the specifications of the standard version with a Seal-A-Matic TM (SAM) check valve to prevent low-head drainage for elevation differences up to 7 feet.  This rotor shall have a vandal-resistant, stainless steel locking set screw to secure cover to body.

The sprinkler shall be as manufactured by Rain Bird Sprinkler Mfg. Corp., Glendora, California.

 

The full or part circle pop-up rotor sprinkler shall be a single-nozzle, water-lubricated, turbine drive type with internal impact speed reduction, capable of covering a ___ units radius at ___ units pressure with a discharge rate of ___ units flow.  The part circle sprinkler shall have adjustable arc coverage from 25 to 350 degrees.  The sprinkler shall not reverse direction during continuous operation in the full circle mode.  Arc adjustment shall not require any tools.

The sprinkler shall have an easy "quick change" nozzle configuration and built-in multiple flow by-pass settings. 

The sprinkler shall have a non-strippable drive mechanism and permit manual rotation of the pop-up stem in any direction while the rotor is on or off.  This shall have absolutely no affect on either the drive or the set arc.  Once the manual rotation is terminated, the sprinkler shall automatically return the water stream to its preset arc.

The sprinkler shall have a pressure-activated, multi-function, soft elastomer wiper seal that positively seals against the nozzle flange to keep debris out of the rotor and to clean debris from the pop-up stem as it retracts.  This wiper seal shall prevent sprinkler from sticking up, and be capable of sealing the sprinkler cap to sprinkler body under normal operating pressures.

The sprinkler shall have a strong stainless steel retract spring for positive pop down.  Pop-up height for the standard, commercial and low angle units shall be 3 5/8" (9,2 cm).  The sprinkler's overall height shall be 7 1/4" (18,4 cm) and it shall have a 3/4" (20/27) (FNPT) bottom inlet.

The sprinkler shall have a screen attached to the drive housing to filter inlet water and prevent the nozzle from clogging.

The sprinkler shall have a matched precipitation rate (MPR) color-coded nozzle with stainless steel adjusting screw capable of reducing the radius up to 25%.  The angle of trajectory shall be 23 degrees.

Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler

Optional Feature Specifications

When so indicated on the design, the full or part circle low angle version rotor shall have all the specifications of the standard version with the only difference being the rotor's capability of a low 11 degree angle of trajectory for superior wind resistance.  Its radius shall have the capability of being reduced down to 21 feet (6,5 m), using a 1.5 GPM (0,10 to 0,58 l/s; 0,36 to 2,09 m3/h) nozzle with the diffuser pin fully engaged. 

The rotor's overall height shall be 7 1/4" (19,1 cm).

When so indicated on the design, the full and part circle rotor shall have all the specifications of the standard version with a durable two-piece rubber cover to provide added safety and security.  A stainless steel locking set screw at cap threads shall assure maximum vandal resistance and a Seal-A-Matic TM (SAM) device built onto the inlet screen shall hold back 8 feet (2,4 m) of elevation change to prevent puddling, run-off and erosion caused by low-head drainage. 

The rotor's overall height shall be 7 1/2" (19,1cm).

Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler with Seal-A-Matic TM

The full or part circle sprinkler shall be a single stream, water lubricated, gear drive type capable of covering a ____units radius at a base pressure of ____units pressure with a discharge rate of ____units flow.  The part circle sprinkler shall have adjustable arc coverage of 40 to 360 degrees.  Arc adjustment can be performed with or without the rotor in operation and shall require only a flat blade screwdriver.  The sprinkler shall be capable of full circle (360") operation in either the single direction mode (FC) or the bi-directional mode (PC).  The sprinkler shall have a rotating nozzle turret independent of the riser stem.  The portion of the riser stem that is in contact with the wiper seal shall be non-rotating.

The sprinkler shall have a pressure activated, multi-function, soft elastomeric wiper seal that will clean debris from the pop-up stem as it retracts.  This wiper seal shall prevent the sprinkler from sticking in the up position, and be capable of sealing the sprinkler riser stem to the sprinkler cap under normal operating pressures.  The sprinkler shall have a tapered plastic riser stem that will assist in the flushing mode of the sprinkler as it pops-up, as well as when it pops-down.  The tapered stem shall seal positively against the multi-function wiper seal to assure no flow-by when fully activated.

The sprinkler shall have a screen attached to the drive housing to filter inlet water, protect the drive from clogging and simplify its removal for cleaning and flushing of the system.  The sprinkler body shall have a double-wall construction 1" female (NPT or BSP) bottom inlet.

The sprinkler shall have a standard rubber cover which designates the full circle sprinkler from the top, as well as designates each adjustment opening from the top.  The sprinkler shall have a front-load nozzle assembly which will allow the nozzle to be installed without a stator bushing change.  The sprinkler shall have four color-coded nozzles that are molded independently of each other to prevent waste of unused materials.  The sprinkler shall have a stainless steel adjusting screw capable of reducing the radius up to 25%.  The angle of trajectory shall be 25 degrees from the horizontal.

The sprinkler shall have a strong stainless steel retract spring for positive pop-down.  The sprinkler shall have a standard Seal-A-Matic (TM) (SAM) device capable of holding up to 10 feet of head.  Pop-up height as measured from the top of the cover to the middle of the nozzle orifice shall be 3 7/8 inches or 10 cm. 

The sprinkler's overall height shall be 8 1/2 inches and the diameter shall be 3 5/16 inches.

Full or Part Circle Pop-up Rotor Sprinkler

The full or part-circle sprinkler shall be a water-lubricated gear drive rotor capable of covering a ____(units) radius at a base pressure of (units) and a discharge rate of ____(units).  The rotor shall be installed with a number ____nozzle that shall be in color for ease of identification.

The part-circle sprinkler shall have adjustable arc coverage of 30 to 345 degrees.  Arc adjustment can be performed with or without the rotor in operation and shall require only a flat-blade screwdriver.  The part-circle rotor shall rotate through a 180 degree arc in two minutes or less.  Rotation through 360 degrees shall be four minutes or less for the full-circle sprinkler.

The sprinkler shall be fully serviceable from the top without requiring special tools.  The internal assembly shall be retained in the case by a plastic snap ring.  The rotor shall have a bearing guide that allows water to flush around the riser stem as it pops up and seals against the riser when it is fully raised.  The pop-up height shall be 2 7/8 " (7,3 cm).  The retract spring shall be of stainless steel and of sufficient force for positive pop-down.

The nozzle housing cover of the rotor shall indicate the model, identify the installed nozzle and have an arrow to indicate the position of the nozzle, and shall provide a positive seal against debris when the rotor is not in operation.  The housing shall be installed with one of six color- coded nozzles.

The rotor shall have a stainless steel covered nozzle turret and riser stem.  The rotor body shall be molded of engineering grade plastic and shall have a female (NPT or BSP) bottom inlet.

The sprinkler shall have a spring-loaded Seal-A-Matic TM (SAM) device in the base of the case and shall be used with a pressure-regulating in-line electrically actuated valve.  The device shall hold back at least 10' (3,1 m) of elevation.

The rotor case shall have a top diameter of 4 3/4 " (12,1 cm) and an overall height of 10" (25,4 cm).  The case shall have a 1" (2,5 cm) NP or BSP threaded inlet.

The sprinkler case shall be constructed of heavy-duty, UV-resistant plastic.  The internal assembly, except for the arm spring, bearing spring, washer and sleeve and wiper seal, shall be of brass construction.  The rotation of the sprinkler shall be accomplished by a horizontal oscillating Precision Jet (PJ TM) arm, actuated by the outlet water stream.

The sprinkler shall have an adjustable deflector and diffuser pin for distance and distribution control and shall be capable of full or part circle operation.  The sprinkler nozzle outlet trajectory shall be 25 from the horizontal.

The sprinkler shall have a strong stainless steel retract spring for positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be 2 5/8" or 7,2 cm.  The sprinkler shall have a wiper seal for cleaning debris from the riser as it retracts into case.

The sprinkler shall have a 3/4" (FNPT) side and bottom inlets for installation flexibility and a bottom inlet screen to protect the nozzle from clogging.

The nozzle shall have an outlet trajectory of 23 degrees from the horizontal.

The sprinkler shall have a heavy-duty stainless steel retract spring to ensure positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be not less than 2 5/16".  It shall have a 1" (FNPT) inlet.

The sprinkler shall be so constructed that all internal parts, including inlet screen, are accessible through the top of the sprinkler case without disturbing the soil around the case.  The sprinkler shall have a rubber cover (RC), and vandal resistant cover screws (VRCS) where specified.

Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler

The part circle pop-up rotor sprinkler shall be a single nozzle impact drive type, capable of covering a ___ units radius at ___ units pressure with a discharge rate of ____ units flow and shall have an infinitely adjustable arc of coverage from 20 to 340.

The sprinkler case shall be constructed of ABS plastic.  The internal assembly shall be of all brass construction except for the arm spring, bearing spring, bearing washers, bearing guide, outer trip and wiper seal.  The rotation of the sprinkler shall be accomplished by a horizontal oscillating Precision Jet (PJ TM) arm, actuated by the outlet water stream.

The sprinkler nozzle for models 27AP and 37AP shall have an adjustable diffuser pin for distance and distribution control.  The nozzle shall have an outlet trajectory of 25 degrees from the horizontal for models 27AP and 37AP; and 23 degrees from the horizontal for the model 47AP sprinkler.

The sprinkler shall have a heavy-duty stainless steel retract spring to ensure positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be 2 5/16".  It shall have a 1" (FNPT) inlet.

The sprinkler shall be so constructed that all internal parts, including inlet screen, are accessible through the top of the sprinkler case without disturbing the soil around the case.  The three internal assemblies of the three models available shall be interchangeable in the same case.

The sprinkler shall have a rubber cover (RC), vandal resistant cover screws (VRCS) and locking friction collars (LFC) where specified.

Pop-Up Rotor Sprinkler

The part circle pop-up rotor sprinkler shall be a single nozzle impact drive type, capable of covering a ___ units radius at ___ units pressure with a discharge rate of ___ units flow .

The sprinkler case shall be constructed of heavy-duty plastic.  The internal assembly shall be of all brass construction except for the arm spring, bearing spring and bearing washers.  The rotation of the sprinkler shall be accomplished by a horizontal oscillating Precision Jet (PJ TM) arm, actuated by the outlet water stream.

The sprinkler shall be equipped with an internal Stop-a-matic valve assembly in the lower portion of the case.  This valve shall be spring loaded with a stainless steel spring, and shall automatically close completely when the pressure drops to 15 feet of head (approximately 6.5 PSI) to prevent drainage of the water in the piping when the system is not in operation.

The sprinkler nozzle shall have an outlet trajectory of 23 from the horizontal.

The sprinkler shall have a heavy-duty stainless steel retract spring to ensure positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be 2 5/16". It shall have a 1" (FNPT) inlet.

The sprinkler shall have a heavy-duty stainless steel retract spring to ensure positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be not less than 2 5/16" or 5,87 cm.  It shall have a 1" (FNPT) inlet.

The sprinkler range nozzle shall have an outlet trajectory of 23 degrees from the horizontal.  The spreader nozzle shall be of the double slotted design for maximum uniformity and distribution.

The sprinkler shall be equipped with an internal Stop-a-matic check valve assembly in the lower portion of the case.  This valve shall be loaded with a stainless steel spring, and shall automatically close completely when the pressure drops to 15 feet (4,6 m) of head to prevent drainage of the water in the piping when the system is not in operation.

The sprinkler shall have a heavy-duty stainless steel retract spring to ensure positive pop-down.  Pop-up height shall be 2 5/16".  It shall have a 1" (FNPT) inlet.  A 1 1/4" inlet shall be available on special order.

The sprinkler shall be so constructed that all internal parts, including inlet screen, are accessible through the top of the sprinkler case without disturbing the soil around the case.

The sprinkler shall have a rubber cover (RC) and vandal resistant cover screws (VRCS) where specified.
