Based on many years of experience, the curve has been determined to be the most fair method for calculating grades in this course. It is calculated as follows.

CALCULATING THE CURVE
A

B
class median establishes lowest B
C
less than median, greater than lowest 10%
D & F
lowest 10%

Participation

Even though this is a large lecture class, all students are expected to participate during class. There will be activities, projects and/or quizzes conducted during each class, and results will be recorded using PRS transmitters. Records of participation will be maintained throughout the semester and used to determine this part of the grade. The three lowest scores will be dropped. Click Here.

Extra Credit

Four extra credit projects provide you with the opportunity to improve your grade, or make up for missed work. Each project is worth a maximum of 5 points, and each student may attempt up to 4 extra credit projects. Extra credit points will be added to the cumulative score after the curve has been calculated.

Record of Grades

The record of all class grades will be maintained on bblearn.
