National Council of Family and Juvenile Court Judges Family Law Institute 2014, March 2-5, 2014

The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) is hosting the Family Law Institute for Judges and Lawyers March 2-5, 2014 in Monterey, Calif.

We're hoping that the International Society of Family Law would be able to help us spread the word about this exciting educational opportunity by sharing with your database, posting on social media, and/or adding to your event calendar.

The Family Law Institute for Judges and Lawyers, which is scheduled March 2-5, 2014 in Monterey, Calif., will feature topics as wide ranging as last year, with the return of Professor Joe Hoffman, who will once again update us on U.S. Supreme Court activity. In addition, we expect plenary sessions on the effects of psychotropic medications in children and adults, e-discovery and ethics, and how to stay happy and productive.

We are pleased to once again have faculty from organizations such as The National Judicial College, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys, and others who will be providing stellar faculty. We are joined this year by the Military Child Education Coalition, a nonprofit organization from Ft. Hood, Texas serving military families, who will discuss issues of children in the military.

We plan to offer sessions on child sexual abuse, cyberstalking, interviewing children, child toxic stress in high-conflict divorce, and parentage in the test tube era. The topics of marriage and divorce in a post-DOMA world, trauma-informed courts, virtual contact visitation plans, and judicial health and wellness will also be offered. In all, the offerings will be state of the art and thought provoking, and we anticipate a most lively conference. Please share these details with your colleagues and plan to join us in Monterey!
