Larc 453 andLarc 455- Fall Semester 2017

Welcome to the course web site for Landscape Architecture 453/ 455. Your professors are Raffaella Sini and Gary Austin. This semester we will work on a grayfield redevelopment project in the city of Seattle.

This web page is an informational resource for urban planning and design in creating sustainable communities. This site focuses on the function of urban amenities and how well they satisfy human aspirations. Differences in urban areas stem from aesthetics of the landscape, local and regional lifestyles, historical values, regional employment opportunities, recreational opportunities and even climate. Throughout the web site there are examples of how to plan and design sustainable communities. Click on the Syllabus button in the column at left to find information about the course policies.
